WELCOME to Shiretoko
We are located in Utoro
town, Shiretoko,
which is in the North of Hokkaido, the big Northern island of
Japan.
When you decide to come
here, we will provide you with detailed instructions on how to get here.
It takes around 1,5 hours from the nearest airport
in Memanbetsu town to Utoro. From there you should catch a bus
going straight to our town.
 If
you decide to come from Sapporo - the capital of Hokkaido, you can
either come by train, bus or train. Both train or bus will take you to
Abashiri city - the gateway to Shirotoko. From there it's best to catch
a bus going to Utoro. You can also rent a car from any city like
Sapporo, Abashiri or Kushiro and take a scenic drive to Utoro you won't
regret! If you are driving from Sapporo, take road 12 to Asahikawa, then
switch to road 39 and follow it all the way through to Abashiri. When
you reach Abashiri, change to road 244 until Shari town, from where you
should get onto road 334 which will lead you to Utoro - your destination
(Abashiri - Utoro about 80 kms).
The nearest airports are Memanbetsu
Airport, Kushiro Airport and Nakashibetsi Airport.
There are 5 daily flights
from Tokyo to Memanbetsu;
5 daily flights from Tokyo to Kushiro;
2 daily flights from Tokyo to Nakashibetsu and
3 daily flights from Sapporo to Memanbetsu.
